LunchKits

I woke up super early, and thought I would go back to sleep before work this morning. It doesn't seem like that is going to happen, so I decided I should update.

Call me weird, but the smallest things can make my heart melt.

Like when I kick Rizzo and Molly off of the bed, and then look down and see them both trying to lay on their dog bed that is barely big enough for one of them.

Or when I go to put on a shoe, only to find a dog toy hidden in there.

Or when I get a text message in the middle of the day from one of my sisters, just because.

Weeellll, today is Tyler's first day of substitute teaching. Last night, there was a small dilemma of how he will be able to eat lunch. This was followed by a midnight trip to WalMart in search of a lunch kit. I guess I had never really given much thought to the product. It is obvious that WalMart does not carry a line of cool, masculine lunch kits. Standing in the middle of the aisle, I look over to Tyler and he just looked so helpless. I thought he was about to cry when he finally chose the red lunch-kit. I thought it was pretty nifty, because it has a tupperware container with it. I just started smiling because I thought it was so cute. Then he said, "I used to make fun of kids that carried lunch-kits." (btw...I carried a lunch-kit :(   haha)

For me, that was also a heart melting moment for some reason. I wish I could explain the look in his eyes. It made me want to become the Queen of Lunch-kits, so I could totally revamp the view on them and make it cool for anyone to carry a purple bag with way too many zippers around a high school.

I hope those kids aren't giving him too bad of a time today. It has to be weird going back to high school again. But in the mean time, any suggestions on a cool way to keep your lunch cool until you can eat it??

  1. GoGurt :) freeze it, and it thaws by lunch time! Haven't you seen the commercials?

This made me think of something... Do you remember how we had pouches of milk in Elementary school? I always thought they were cool... but they never had them in Alabama!
